The Sweet Reaper Story

Sweet Reaper began in a hot kitchen on the small island of St. John, USVI. A firey hot pepper sauce blended with sweet white onions, garlic, and vinegar can be found on most caribbean tables. After falling in love with this style of hot sauce, the Sweet Reaper recipe was born.

For almost a decade now Sweet Reaper has been made for kitchen staff only, making its way into family meals, late night pizza or raw bar, the cooler for day-off boat trips, and occasionally the hands of staff sneaking bottles home. Making its way from St. John to Martha’s Vineyard, and eventually to the city of Boston, this is where Sweet Reaper was perfected and Chef Nathan was encouraged to grow the product and brand.


In 2019, Sweet Reaper truly came to life with the pressure and support of family and friends, badass hand drawn artwork by Todd Noble, and graphic design from Blue Rock Design co. We are stoked to finally be able to share this hot sauce with you and your friends! Thanks for supporting Sweet Reaper and enjoy!
